About skiing and snowboarding in South America

South America is the next frontier for international snow enthusiasts. Chile and Argentina feature world class ski resorts on either side of the towering Andes mountain range, which receive dumps of dry, fluffy powder every winter. The ski season runs from mid-June until October, ideal for those searching for powder during the Australian and New Zealand ski season, and so too for those in the northern hemisphere looking for a snow-fix in summer.

The ski areas are extensive and offer a range of terrain to suit beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers & boarders, as well as terrain parks, backcountry, cat and heli skiing operations. And as these ski fields are largely undiscovered by the rest of the world, you can avoid the crowds and overdevelopment now found in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia/NZ.

The resort infrastructure is as you’d expect from any other international resort, with a range of lift types, regular grooming and snow making facilities. For apres-ski activities there are a wide variety of cafes, bars, restaurants and nightspots. There are accommodation options to suit a range of budgets, from high-end luxury hotels, mid-range apartments and down-to-earth backpacker lodges. Packages are normally for 4 or 7 days and include accommodation, meals and lift ticket.

A new online reservation form will allow you to let us know when and where you’d like to travel – we’ll be able to confirm availability with the resorts, and then process payment securely online through your choice of PayPal or credit card. We’ll provide information and links to our recommended partners for flights, add-on activities and further South American travel.
